Technology glossary

1. artificial intelligence

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the ability of a computer system to perform tasks that would normally require human intelligence. This includes machine learning, natural language processing and pattern recognition.

2. Internet of Things (IoT)

The Internet of Things refers to the interconnection of physical devices, vehicles, household appliances and other objects via the Internet. This allows data to be collected and exchanged between these devices.

3. Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR)

Virtual Reality is a technology that simulates a three-dimensional, interactive environment, while Augmented Reality combines virtual elements with the real environment. Both are widely used in games and training applications.

4. Blockchain

Blockchain is a distributed ledger technology that stores transactions in chained blocks. It is widely used in cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin, to guarantee the security and transparency of transactions.

5. Cloud Computing

Cloud Computing refers to the delivery of computing services, such as storage, servers, networks and software, over the Internet. This allows remote access and scalability of computing resources.

6. Big Data

Big Data refers to the massive volume of data that is collected, processed and analyzed to gain insights and make strategic decisions. This includes structured and unstructured data from a variety of sources.

7. Cyber Security

Cybersecurity is the set of practices, technologies and processes used to protect systems, networks and data from cyber attacks. This includes firewalls, antivirus, encryption and threat monitoring.

8. Machine Learning

Machine Learning is a subfield of AI that allows systems to learn and improve from data without being explicitly programmed. This includes supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms.

9. Robotics

Robotics is the area of technology dedicated to the design, construction and operation of autonomous or remotely controlled robots. This includes industrial robots, service robots and space exploration robots.

10. 5G

5G is the fifth generation of mobile communication technology, offering faster connection speeds, greater bandwidth and lower latency. This allows more devices to be connected and innovative applications to be developed.
